There are just a few simple supplies you will need to put together your git of fruit. You will need some shredded paper, a wicker basket, scissors, bows, blow dryer, flowers, ribbons, heat-sealable plastic gift-wrapping and of course fruit.

Colorful fruit is best to use along with the usual kinds of fruits. The fruit needs to be of the highest quality and organic fruit is a nice addition. You will want to use fruits that everyone loves like bananas, apples and oranges but also you an incorporate more interesting and unusual fruits like mangoes, kiwi and pineapple.

The container does not have to be wicker but that is traditional and some colored paper that is shredded will make a nice bed for the fruit to rest in the container. When building your basket put the biggest pieces on the bottom so you can add the other fruit in around it and build layers.

Sealing the basket up with the fruit to protect it will be easy if you use heat-sealable plastic wrapping material. This comes in a variety of patterns and colors but it needs to say that it is okay to use with perishable foods. Cut the wrap about three times the size of the basket.

With the wrapping paper laying out flat put the basket in the center and then raise the sides to meet at the middle and seal it at the top. Use a blow dryer to heat the plastic wrapping and seal it together making a kind of gift bag.

Your gift is now together but kind of plain so use some of your decorative items to embellish the look. Put on a big bow, use the ribbons or some flowers or maybe even a few wrapped candies as embellishments. The fruit is very enticing and very healthy which is maybe the best part of this gift. Even giving this gift to the same person is okay because it will be something that they look for to enjoy for its freshness and flavors.

If you do decide to give this gift often you will want to change it up some. You can add in flowers, nuts, or a special gift for the person that you can center in the basket and layer the fruit around the gift item. Or you could simply add beautiful flowers to make it even more spectacular.
